First it was heatwaves to match the steady drought we've had for the last year. Then it was pouring rain that brought down assorted branches and trees in the area, flooded rail lines, and refilled the Sydney dam from 40% to 70% full. Right now, it's about 20-25C, which is pretty darned cold for me given I've just come back from Bali and Vietnam, where the temps are at least 30C and the humidity is, respectively, 90% and 60%.

And I have a decision to make, which I'm hoping people here can help make.

I'm opening my garden for an 'edible garden trail' and trying to decide exactly what it is I'm going to showcase, and where. Also: just how much I'll have to clean up the garden beds.

I post a Bed Check over on my gardening blog, but since I took that photo (six weeks) it's gotten seriously outtahand.

If you were going through someone's garden, what sort of things would you want to see? I've done a post permaculture and my garden to get myself sorted out, but any assistance would be welcomed!

I couldn't track through the bed check post, but looking through the second post, I'm interested in the details of the chook tractors and maybe the wicking beds, and details of how any of this works at an accessible level. Also, given that you mention chook tractors, being able to see the sequence of movement there? I've read a really good book on rotation of chook tractors, but that was some time ago, and I've never been able to find it again, nor have I been able to find other good resources, which suggests to me that this might be something that more info is good?

Yeah, I was thinking in terms of people with movement limitations accessing wicking beds, and what kinds of modifications might exist for chook tractors for different human limitations. For that latter one, how resilient is it to not running to a perfect schedule? If I couldn't deal with it for a few days because getting out of the bedroom is beyond me, is that okay? What about a week? Is that dependent on other things? Is it the kind of thing where a kind friend who says 'what can I do' could be pointed at and they could do a few small things that would keep it running somewhat? Or does it need a lot of focus?
